Proofs
Proofs are a "hard-copy" representation of how a digital file will print at DPI Art Services, based on our specific equipment, inks and the surface(s) selected for printing. A raw proof is recommended whenever you are providing a digital file to DPI Art Services for fine art printing.
Color Prep Packages
Combined with a Cruse Scan, our expert color technicians can work with you to create a reproduction that is as true to the original art as possible. However, we understand that "one size does not fit all" when referring to artists and their work. That is why we developed our BRONZE, SILVER, GOLD, and PLATINUM color-prep packages. These packages allow the art customer to determine how many changes need to be made to an image file before it is approved for the fine art printing process. Whenever there are customer-directed corrections to be made, the order will automatically be billed as a silver, gold or platinum package (depending on how many total corrections are ultimately requested by the customer). When a customer asks for additional corrections, a DPI representative can explain the possible change in pricing that may occur. One customer "take-a-way" proof is included with all prep packages at the size requested. With the silver, gold and platinum packages, the "take-a-way" proof and final CD are available the day following the approval of color.
Bronze:
This package does not include any direction from the customer, but does include one round of global color corrections (1/2 hour maximum) to the scan file to "prep" the file for an overall match to the original art. The color corrections to be made are determined by the internal color specialist at the time the scan is reviewed and results in a final file proof for approval/files.
SILVER:
This package is the place to start if you are an artist who wants to be able to direct at least some of the color corrections. This package includes a first proof for review, one (1) customer-directed round of color corrections and a final file proof for approval/files.
GOLD:
This package includes a first and second proof for review, two (2) customer-directed round of color corrections and a final proof for approval/files.
PLATINUM:
This package includes a first (and subsequent proofs) for review and comment, up to four (4) customer-directed rounds of color corrections and a final proof for approval/files
Add $40.00 to the price of your Color Prep Package for each additional substrate/material selected for color correcting/proofing.

The Giclee Prep Cruse Scan (prices on opposite page) already reflects a 15% discount off the normal 3-Day Scan prices, for those times when you also request a Color Prep Package and place an initial order for Giclees. As part of the "Best of Show" Package, we will also give you a 10% discount off the Color Prep Package and will waive the "first-unit" pricing for an order of at least 3 giclée prints (per new image). Giclée Prep Cruse Scans and "Best of Show" discount packages include a CD with 2 promotional-sized digital files. DPI will archive the "full-size" digital file for future printing.
